Introducing the World of Fire & Flight: Chirpets

Like niphonies, chirpets are a small insect capable of producing an audible symphony. More particular about their environment than their counterpart, chirpets prefer drier ground and grasses to hide in. Depending on their environment, a chirpet’s (pronounced /chuhrp-et/) exoskeleton varies. Most commonly found in the Barrier Plains of Tenebris because of the landscape’s tall grasses and lack of flooding, these chirpets have an amber exoskeleton compared to the navy exoskeleton of the chirpets found in the Shadow Forest.

While chirpets predominantly prefer dry ecosystems and are pickier when it comes to their home, it’s not uncommon for the two different insects to share an environment between colonies. To learn more about not only the animals of Tenebris, but also the kingdom itself, as well as my characters, be sure to keep an eye out for Fire & Flight to be released summer 2022 and sign up for my newsletter to be among the first to know!
